Facebook is no stranger to change. The social media pioneer updates or patches their code with remarkable speed. But, as you are probably aware, not all of these changes are met with praise. Instead, users, more often than not, are outraged at news feed and privacy changes that seem too radical or necessary. Today, however, Facebook announced one specific change users can finally be excited about – a Music tab on your news feed!
Coming soon users will be able to sort their new feeds by type of content, and Music is rightfully one of the first categories to go live. Under this new design, updates from musicians, bands, and music companies will all appear under one “Music” tab, presumably giving everyone a larger piece of the social media real estate pie.
I personally love this! It’ll be like your own personal Facebook RSS feed from bands and companies that don’t necessarily have an RSS feed to offer! My only hope is that this doesn’t become a pay-to-play feature dominated by promoted ads.
